Cookie policy

The platform only uses technical cookies. YouTube cookies are set only with your consent. By accepting you confirm that you have read it.

Ultimo aggiornamento: 2 ottobre 2026

4. Come gestire i cookie e i consensi

Last updated: 2 October 2026

This policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used by the platform https://www.academy.materahub.com ("Platform") and should be read together with the Privacy Notice. Controller: Social Things S.r.l., Via Battista de Rolandi 1, 20156 Milano (MI), Italy, privacy@socialthingum.com.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in the browser. They may last only for the browsing session (session cookies) or for a longer period (persistent cookies). Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, are treated in the same way.

2. Technical cookies used

The Platform only uses first-party technical cookies, needed for it to work or to remember the user's choices. It does not use profiling or marketing cookies or analytics tools (such as Google Analytics). These cookies do not require consent, only this notice (Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Italian DPA guidelines of 10 June 2021).

NamePurposeDuration
MoodleSessionKeeps the user logged in while browsing and protects the session (Secure and HttpOnly cookie)Session
MOODLEID1_Remembers the username on the device, only if the user ticks "Remember username" on the login page60 days
mb2_scrolltopRemembers the scroll position on the course page when going back3 days
mb2notices_item_[number]Remembers that the user has closed a notice, so it is not shown again3 days

The Platform also uses the browser's local and session storage to temporarily keep interface preferences and technical data, without any tracking purpose.

3. Third-party services

Fonts and libraries. The fonts and JavaScript libraries of the Platform are hosted on the Platform's own servers: displaying them does not involve connections to Google or other providers. Only on pages containing mathematical formulas does the browser download the MathJax library from the jsDelivr network, which receives the IP address but sets no cookies.

YouTube videos. Some courses contain videos hosted on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited). YouTube may set its own cookies and similar technologies, including for profiling purposes. For this reason videos are loaded only if the user has given consent to the "YouTube videos" document. Without consent, a notice is shown instead of the video and no data is sent to YouTube. Consent can be given or withdrawn at any time from the "Policies and agreements" page of the user profile. Information on Google cookies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

External links. Links to external websites in the courses or in the footer (for example online forms, third-party video conferences, social profiles) are plain links: external services set their own cookies only when the user decides to open them, under their own policies.

4. Managing cookies and consents

  • YouTube consent: from the user menu, Profile, Policies and agreements; the choice can be changed at any time.
  • Browser settings: users can block or delete cookies from their browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Blocking technical cookies prevents access to the Platform.

5. Updates

If analytics tools or other non-technical cookies are introduced in the future, this policy will be updated and the user's consent will be requested before they are enabled.
